The Language of Love and Respect is Dr. Emerson Eggerichs’ follow up to the breakthrough book, Love and Respect. The communication tendencies of men and women are compared, contrasted and examined thoroughly throughout this volume. Eggerichs is careful to include many practical examples of how to apply the principles of communication he writes about.

This book was a challenging read in a variety of ways. I alternatively found myself thankful for how thorough the author was in examining certain facets of communication between spouses and wondering at other times if he was not beating a dead horse. If you enjoyed the author’s first book, Love and Respect, and want to dive more deeply into the nuts and bolts of how to communicate in marriage within the Love and Respect paradigm, this book is for you. If you were not captivated by the first book, this one will not hold your attention.

This book presents a thoroughly Scriptural, practical and well examined approach to healthy communication in marriage. If you are hungry to learn how to apply Love and Respect principles to the way you speak to your spouse then this book is for you.

This book is a study of the Bible’s teachings regarding the lifestyle of believers as the return of Jesus approaches. The author presents a well-rounded instruction that is firmly rooted in the Scriptures and balances the “what to do” with the “why” and”how to”. This book helped me to clearly see how believers are instructed to live in these last days and challenged me to live a life worthy of His calling. This book is recommended to everyone who desires to know how to live in a God-honoring way in these turbulent times.

In Fearless, Max Lucado tackles the issue of fear head-on. Balancing Scriptural, spiritual and relational insight with a conversational tone, Fearless is easy to read, hard to put down and impossible to forget. Each chapter is inspired by a different statement Jesus made regarding fear. Each statement is than effectively applied to fears that we all share, such as fear of disappointing God, fear of failure or fear of not having enough.

Fearless really opened my eyes to how much Jesus said about fear. He spoke about fear more than many other important issues! Reading this book enabled me to recognize areas of my life in which I had entertained fear and inspired me to trust God to overcome those fears. I heartily recommend this book to anyone who is struggling with fear and everyone who desires to know God’s love and care for us in every area of our lives.
